Single Origin Peru, Beat The Demon
Beat the Demon Coffee Company was founded by Darren and Scott, who first met while serving in The Parachute Regiment in the early 2000s. Though they were in different battalions (Darren in the 3rd and Scott in the 2nd), their paths crossed frequently during their years of service, which included tours in Iraq and Afghanistan. Determined to make a difference, however small, Scott and Darren wanted to spread the message that talking about your issues is not a weakness but a strength—something to be proud of. After some brainstorming, they came up with the idea of selling coffee. Coffee, after all, is about social connection, routine, and comfort—a perfect medium to share the message about PTSD and encourage people to talk.
