Publishing as an independent Author
Once I'd finished book one "Major", I decided to try and get it published the traditional way, seeking a Literary Agent and sending the manuscript off to Puplishers. I sent over 100 emails, most were never replied too, I did however get a few back, one publisher wrote to me saying that my story was written well and the overall idea was great but in general they wouldn't take it on, as it wasn't what the market was looking for.
The fiction market is flooded with "Romantasy" tat, and having a military action/adventure sci-fi, just wasn't going to something the traditional route would be interested in.
After getting the the book professionally edited and checked. A few rewrites later, I started my own publishing company "iNYONi Publishing".
I released the eBook through Amazon Kindle Direct Publishing (KDP) and the physical books I chose to use IngramSpark, they distribute worldwide to all major and independent bookstores.
The downside is i don't have unlimited funds for marketing and the connections the big publishers have.

This is extremely helpful information for anyone looking to publish.
