A little bit about me…

My names Jacob. I’m former Royal Marine and served 6 years with 42 commando/commando logistics. I am currently working in the NHS full time getting people fit before major surgery (mainly cancer patients) and love my job.
I have a passion for long distance walking and have completed several of the UKs best long distance routes including the West Highland Way (97 miles), Offas Dyke Path (177 miles) and Anglesey Coastal Path (140 miles).
I started Perterra Packs in 2025 to make my own Ultralight outdoor gear as many of the company’s using ultralight fabrics are based in the USA. High end ultralight fabrics are mainly sourced in USA but are slowly starting to be found in the UK.
The idea behind Perterra Packs is to build robust kit using ultralight fabrics/components that does not weigh you down allowing you to travel lighter and further on your adventures.
I started sewing and after a lot of hard work and mistakes now hand make all our gear here in North Wales. I am hoping to develop Perterra Packs organically into a bigger business one stitch at a time and have appreciated all the help from other forces brands that have reached out.
If you have any questions about our products, fabrics, business, long distance hiking or anything else please reach out!
Jacob.

Jacob, what you have created is amazing, thank you for sharing a little on your back ground, truly looking forward to seeing your brand grow.
